From left to right: Margaret, Sally and Paul
Mentor not tormentor!
Paul loves to help people to be better sorted financially, meaning they can live life more fully. He enjoys ongoing learning and improvement and has a philosophy that every day is a day to make something happen.
He has a broad range of interests around business and people, and gets a thrill when the plans that people put in place many years ago turn to reality, and can feel that he has helped them achieve those goals.
Over the years Paul has completed two Business Diplomas and also holds the positions of Certified Financial Planner Practitioner and Chartered Life Underwriter. He is also an Authorised Financial Adviser, which allows him to provide a broad range of insurance and investment advice. Paul has held directorship and management roles in a number of advisory businesses.
Paul can be a bit of a perfectionist and, according to Sally, is always right (much to her dismay). He loves spending his spare time with family, and also enjoys cycling and fixing things that are broken.
Sally is all about relationships with her clients and is passionate about searching for the right solutions to meet their needs. She is always helping friends, clients and family.
Sally has been involved in general and medical health insurance advice since about 2007 and now looks after all our clients’ needs in this area. Sally has studied and holds the ANZIIF Associate and IBANZ membership, and is also a Registered Financial Adviser.
When not at work, Sally tries to keep fit and enjoys the outdoors, whether it be by bike or on foot. She also enjoys being in the garden, and cooking for friends and family when she has time!
Margaret joined the Carricks team in September 2011 and is the ‘go to person’ of the team. Margaret’s role at Carricks is varied, from answering the telephone, attending to general administration duties, to assisting clients with their insurance queries. Margaret supports Paul and Sally in their respective roles and everything in between.
Margaret works closely with Paul and Sally to ensure their clients' insurance is up-to-date and relevant to their current needs.
The team at Carricks take pleasure in supporting Kirstie James, a young, New Zealand, world class Paralympics track cyclist... Click here to find out more about Kirstie & follow her progress or visit Kistie's website - www.kirstiejames.com

For the past 11 years I have been tutoring the Certificate in Small Business Management, a 36 week business planning programme. Each year, as part of the legal component of the business plan, Paul and Sally Carrick from Carricks Financial Advisors, kindly give their time to share their extensive financial and risk management knowledge with the students so they are able to make informed decisions about how to manage this area of their own business. The students find Paul and Sally's approach to this often rather baffling subject, quite refreshing and enlightening as both Paul and Sally are able to align real life scenario's with common business situations. Paul also places a lot of emphasis on advising these potential business owners about the value of investing in themselves as well as the business. We look at areas such as KiwiSaver, appropriate ACC cover, wills, key person cover, shareholder and partnership agreeements, and much more.
Alongside the extensive knowledge and information Paul and Sally bring to our group, they are always really enthusiastic about what they do and how they can make that difference in a person's business. Most importantly they help us see into the future and how to manage the changes that will occur as the business develops.
I really value Paul and Sally's generosity and the integrity they bring to their profession.
