Conference Week
The team went down to Blenheim at the start of May for the annual Wealthpoint Conference, and celebrated Wealthpoint’s fifth year in business. We spent a few days down there, trying some of the local cafés and restaurants and staying at the lovely central Lugano Motel.
The conference was made up of 2 action-packed days, filled with lots of interesting speakers including Sir Bill English who gave us his perspective on some topical issues relating to the economy, technology and business and also Vitale Lafaele who captivated us all by speaking about his life which was confronting but also very inspirational.
We had a wide range of different workshops that we could attend, offering discussions around all things Insurance, KiwiSaver, Investing, and increasing our knowledge about the computer system we use. Meanwhile catching up with lots of new and also familiar faces within our industry.
The conference ended with the traditional Gala Dinner preceded by The Chairmans Function attended by Paul and Sally while Caitlin attended the New Adviser Function. This year since we were in Blenheim, it was only fitting these functions were held at the Wither Hills Winery.
This was followed by the Annual Awards Dinner at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre, what an amazing place to visit with so much history and so many incredible displays.
At the start of the year, everyone within the Wealthpoint network were asked if they would like to nominate someone from their business for an award for one of 6 awards. Carricks put through a nomination for Business Support Person of The Year for our team member Kate – who works alongside Paul and Nick as their Client and Admin Support.
This award was hotly contested and had the most entries, and we were very honoured and proud to find out that Kate was the winning recipient of this award. Kate showed outstanding performance in all of the entry categories. Congratulations!
